On Nov.12, at Place de la République in Paris, the demonstration hosted by the International Coordination of Revolutionary Parties & Organizations (ICOR), “For an anti-imperialist environmental struggle -Forward to socialism!”, was held. The World Anti-Imperialist Platform (the Platform) participated in and made a speech. The Platform pointed out that the US military bases in the world including South Corea is not only the root cause of the war but also the root of all evil causing the US military crimes and environmental problems, and stressed that progressive forces and peace-loving forces around the world should naturally struggle to withdraw US troops and to disband NATO.

Withdraw US troops in foreign countries! Disband NATO!
The Ukraine war is ongoing in Eastern Europe and the Taiwan war and the South Korean war are imminent in East Asia. Even after the collapse of Soviet Union, US-centered NATO hasn’t concealed its bellicosity and has kept expanding continuously towards East. Also in East Asia, the US imperialism holds war exercises and aggressive and provocative acts day after day, it raises state of tension that whenever the wars can be broken out.
Across the European territory, the US imperialist military forces are deployed in places, so the threats of war is always around.
The US imperialism has built the US military bases for foothold of invasion and interference in other countries’ domestic affairs not only in the Europe but everywhere in this planet. Based on the illegitimate occupation, it strengthens the imperialist hegemony, interfering in the domestic affairs of which the bases are located.
The US military bases in the world including South Corea is not only the root cause of the war but also the root of all evil causing the US military crimes and environmental problems. Therefore, the issue of withdrawal of the US troops in South Corea is to remove of the root cause of the war and to save the right to live of South Corean people.
The place which has the most serious environmental problem is around the US military bases which conduct the tests of biological and chemical weapons such as anthrax bacterium and botulinum. The US military illegally dumped toxic materials such as dioxin sprayed on Vietnam into the grounds or rivers. So the US military is the main culprit of massive environmental pollution in Vietnam.
South Corean movie “The Host” which is made by the world renowned film director Bong Joon-ho and screened at the Cannes Film Festival, depicts a monster raised in the Han river in Seoul contaminated by the US military base. In the movie, workers, peasants and youth of South Corea bravely fight together and defeat the monster.
These problems could be similarly happened at the countries where the US troops are stationed. The leftover of the Cold War, NATO, has to disband, since the cold war was ended. NATO is also the root cause of the war and the root of all evil.
In this sense, progressive forces and peace-loving forces around the world should naturally struggle to withdraw US troops and to disband NATO.
