Dmitri Kuzmin | Russian Communist Workers’ Party
Greetings from the Russian Communist Workers’ Party to the participants of the forum of the World Anti-Imperialist Platform and to all anti-imperialist and anti-fascist organizations—fighters against the claims of American imperialism to world hegemony and for the defeat of NATO.
Dear comrades!
The Central Committee of the Russian Communist Workers’ Party–CPSU sends you its fiery fraternal greetings on the eve of the 81st anniversary of the Great Victory of the Soviet people and their allies over German fascism.
May 9, 1945 became not merely a military triumph. It was the victory of socialism over imperialism, the victory of the workers’ and peasants’ state over the shock force of world capital. As Lenin taught, any war can only be understood through the economic essence of imperialism. Fascism is the product of a decaying capitalist system, its final and most terrible weapon, above all an anti-Comintern force intended to halt the spread of communist ideas throughout the world. And in 1945 it was precisely the Red Army under the leadership of the Communist Party that broke the spine of this monster. With the active participation of resistance movements, which in most European countries were led by communists, socialism crushed the brown plague.
Today, 81 years later, we see that imperialism has essentially changed very little. The very same representatives of the largest reactionary capitals, headed by the United States and its strike force NATO, are once again cultivating fascism, now in Ukraine. The Bandera regime, armed and financed by the West, is the direct heir of Hitler’s collaborators Bandera and Shukhevych, whom the current authorities literally glorify. Against this living fascism, our comrades today fight in Donbas and on other fronts in Ukraine. They continue the cause of their grandfathers—the cause of the Red Army. Their struggle is as sacred as the struggle of 1941–1945.
Imperialism is an international force, and today the same predatory pack led by the United States and NATO heads the offensive of reaction in many regions of the world. After the defeat (which we are confident is temporary) of Soviet socialism and the collapse of the Soviet Union, the policy of imperialism became especially aggressive and cynical. The destruction of Yugoslavia, Iraq, and Libya; the reactionary coup in Syria; the cultivation of fascism in Ukraine and its incitement against Donbas and Russia; the genocide of Palestine and the Gaza Strip by Zionists; the kidnapping of the president of Venezuela and aggression against Iran and Lebanon; threats toward Cuba, the DPRK, and other sovereign countries—all these are links in the same chain. The fruits of one imperialist policy.
In many European countries, the shoots of fascism are sprouting and anti-communist laws are being introduced. In many countries of the world, reactionary regimes are applying measures of direct violence and suppression against revolutionary forces. In Poland, the communist party is banned; in Russia, members of a Marxist circle have been sentenced to 12–16 years. In Kenya, the forces of reaction abducted and are torturing the General Secretary of the Communist Party, Comrade Booker Ngesa Omole. But as Kenyan communists say: “No prison can contain the will of the people. No baton can suppress the truth.”
The struggle will continue! As Lenin taught us: “Capital is an international force. To defeat it requires an international alliance of workers, their international brotherhood.
We are opponents of national hostility, national discord, and national isolation. We are internationalists. We strive for the closest union and complete merging of the workers and peasants of all nations of the world into a single worldwide Soviet republic.”
We fully support the call for the defeat of the NATO bloc led by the gangster imperialism of the United States. This aggressive organization is the chief gendarme of world imperialism, the source of wars, genocide, and the fascization of the planet. As long as the dictatorship of the United States and NATO exists, there will be no lasting peace. We demand the dissolution of NATO and a trial for its criminal leadership.
Once again, together with our comrades from Donetsk, Lugansk, and Ukraine, who today with weapons in hand defend the cause of socialism and continue the glorious path of the Red Army, we congratulate you on May 9! We wish you steadfastness, courage, and success in your noble struggle.
We stand in one class formation! Long live the united anti-fascist and anti-imperialist front of all progressive forces of the world!
Workers of all countries, unite!
Death to world imperialism!
With fraternal comradely wishes,
