No NATO National Coordination in Italy (Coordinamento Nazionale Nonato in Italian)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you for offering us the possibility of contributing to your important event.
On December 8th, 2024, the National No NATO Coordination (CNNN \u2014 Coordinamento Nazionale No nato in Italian) was established in Bologna, where dozens of associations, committees, and individuals gathered together.
In its policy statement, the CNNN emphasizes as its primary goal the full implementation of Article 11 of the Italian Constitution of 1948. This article, if truly enforced, would entail\u2014and effectively require\u2014Italy\u2019s withdrawal from NATO. With the founding of NATO in 1949, Article 11 was immediately reduced to a mere piece of paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CNNN has listed what respecting the Italian Constitution and implementing Article 11 would mean:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Withdrawing Italian military contingents stationed abroad.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Cutting public funding for the war industry.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Applying Italian law to members of foreign armed forces operating in Italy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Closing military polygons (firing ranges).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Decontaminating territories polluted by military exercises.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Converting war industries to civilian production.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Declassifying all secret agreements made by Italy with the United States, NATO, and the Zionist State of Israel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. Recognizing as war victims both civilians and military personnel who have died as a result of their activities on NATO\/US bases, accidents, or pollution related to firing ranges.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. Demilitarizing schools and universities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  10. Abolishing so-called \u201csecurity laws\u201d which restrict democratic freedoms.
    At present, 22 national organizations, committees, and many local associations have joined the CNNN, which continues to expand its network across Italy.
    Currently, CNNN leadership is focused on several tasks:
    \u2022 First, mapping US and NATO military installations on Italian territory, and compiling an inventory of ongoing agreements between Italian universities and NATO agencies, as well as with the Zionist State of Israel.
    \u2022 Second, organizing initiatives and local meetings to support overall mobilization and help build CNNN local groups across various regions of Italy.
    \u2022 Third, promoting national gatherings to strengthen nationwide struggle and mobilization\u2014such as on April 4th, June 2nd, and other key dates.
    From December 8th to today, CNNN has organized assemblies and other public events to inform people of its goals and existence. It has also raised awareness of the three-day mobilization on April 4th, 5th, and 6th, during which 30 actions took place across Italy with more than 2,000 participants.
    This was part of the growing global mobilization against war and rearmament\u2014a movement that is spreading throughout the country.
    The CNNN launched and circulated the slogan:
    \u201cLiberation from US-NATO imperialism and from the warmongers currently in power.\u201d
    For the 21st of June in Rome, two different demonstrations against war and rearmament have been announced. CNNN is strongly insisting that these be united into a single demonstration, in a common square, to give more strength and visibility to the anti-war sentiment growing across the country.
    The goal of CNNN is to bring together all forces working to stop NATO and prevent a Third World War. Achieving this requires struggle\u2014particularly against the sectarianism and competitive behaviors still rooted within the Italian population and even within the unions.
    CNNN seeks to raise the level of mobilization, not only in numbers but in political and organizational quality\u2014fostering synergy among all progressive forces.
    We are convinced that, with the right approach and commitment, the people\u2019s capacity for struggle and resistance can be transformed into a broad and powerful movement. One capable of stopping World War III, defeating the warmongering leaders of the so-called \u201cinternational community,\u201d striking a decisive blow against NATO, and advancing the liberation of our country from foreign occupation.
