On March 31, Hope Bird, a Korean musical troupe to promote anti-imperialist struggle, held a performance on the anti-imperialist and anti-war demonstration at Dam Square in the center of Amsterdam, Netherlands.

The rally was supported by peace lovers from around the world. Anti-imperialist and anti-war activists and artists made speeches and held performances against the wars provoked by the imperialism. 

One of the speakers strongly said, “NATO, the main culprit of war, must be disbanded” and “The Netherlands is practically a colony of the United States”.

At the end of the demonstration, the presider introduced Hope Bird and it attracted the attention of people all over the square.

Hope Bird sang songs such as “Listen Yankee”, “International”, and “Bella Chao”. The square soon became crowded with people who came to watch the performance. 

The participants marched to the U.S. Consulate. 

The Representative of Hope Bird remarked “We are the musical troupe singing for the reunification and peace of Korea. Today, we are honored to be here with so many musicians and citizens in this historic square.” “Human dignity and peace cannot be trampled on by force. The hearts of all peace-loving people who resist unjust oppression are one” he added.

The speaker of the World Anti-imperialist Platform stressed, “The war in Ukraine is caused by NATO’s eastward policy. The war in Ukraine is a genocidal campaign by Zionist Israel to take over Palestine. The imperialist camp, led by the US, is waging wars around the world with fascist and other pro-imperialist puppet regimes. They are manipulating to launch a World War 3 under the New cold war strategy to deflect the political and economic crisis and continue to dominate the world. Imperialism is the root cause of all wars on a global scale and is also solely responsible for provoking wars.”

“The flames of World War 3, which began in Eastern Europe, are spreading into East Asia, through the Middle East. Currently, there is a high probability of escalation of war in Eastern Europe and a high probability of opening war in East Asia. The recent terrorist attacks in Russia are a dangerous provocation by the imperialist powers to push Russia to escalate war in Europe. In the Middle East, the Palestinian war is quickly escalating into a Middle East war. The protests against Israel by the people are spreading all around the world, is pushing Israel and the imperialist forces into a corner.”, she added. 

In the severe war situation, the World Anti-Imperialist Platform is strengthening the anti-imperialist struggle on a global scale by organizing the tour of the musical troupe. On March 24, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the NATO bombing, the first start of the European tour of Hope Bird was announced in Belgrade, and it was announced that it will struggle together with the people of Europe against imperialism.
