Yannik Mallmann | Communist Organization (Kommunistische Organisation, Germany)
Comment to comrade from Netherlands about the tasks of the anti-imperialists:
• In Germany, the Alternative for Germany says it is opposing the war against Russia
• But their high ranks are full of military generals and their votes in the parliament are strongly supporting the militarization of Germany in preparation against Russia
o They demanded long time ago the 5% of the GDP for military
• Their role is a reserve with close ties to monopoly capital and has developed into a rallying point and hub for the entire spectrum of fascist think tanks and thugs
o Growing number of supporters and connections right through to the working class and youth
• On the superficial they seem to be anti-imperialist, but they are not and it would be a big mistake to align with them
• We need a deep analysis of the imperialism and the different forces which appearing in the struggle
• Talk about situation in Germany and our tasks as KO
Introduccion:
• The crisis of imperialism is coming to a head. At the same time, the escalation of war is increasing
o The USA is now a direct belligerent against Iran, Germany is preparing for war against Russia
• According to NATO, the war against Russia will take place in 2029
• NATO countries are arming themselves vigorously (up to 5% of GDP and more is to be spent on war preparations in the coming years)
o In Germany: We face an introduction of compulsory military service, preparation of martial law and emergency decrees, conversion to a war economy
o E.g. Construction of new Rheinmetall factories for arms deliveries to Ukraine
o They collect labour forces for the war economy through retraining of workers from the automotive industry―dismissal of workers from “Continental”company and hiring at “Rheinmetall”
• In Germany, these costs of war preparation can only be paid for by increasing the exploitation of the working class
o Increase in working hours
o Reduction of workers’ rights and social cuts
o Reduction of real wages
• Internal repression is intended to keep the working class quiet. In the same time we face a strong war propaganda
o Bourgeoisie is bringing the media into line, we face a suppression of dissent and denunciation
o For example, the tightening of §140 “condoning criminal offences.” Withdrawal of German citizenship from people who show solidarity with Donbass
o Repression against Redmedia founders (stands on the EU sanctions list)
Tasks of anti-imperialists:
• In Germany and many European countries, there is currently no revolutionary Communist Party that can take the lead in the struggles and give them orientation.
• The communist movement is fragmented and often detached from the masses. The ideological level is very low.
• We see Fragmentation of the communist movement in Germany and permanent danger to opportunism and penetration of the ideology of the bourgeoisie into the ranks of the working class.
• It is very important for us as KO to deal honestly with this in order to work on overcoming it. Cadre development and clarification of the most important questions are central to this.
• We assume that the mass struggles will come to a head. The class struggles in Germany will become more dynamic.
• We must prepare ourselves intensively for this situation. Build a strong organisation that is connected to the struggles, capable of taking political leadership and not afraid to throw itself into the front ranks of these struggles.
• Tasks: Building future cadres with character, organising, agitation and propaganda skills.
Study programme for the next three years:
• Understanding the history of the struggles – which conflicts, which contradictions – appropriating scientific socialism on this basis. In this way, we develop the skills for current discussions and a foundation for programme development.
• At the same time, we actively participate in the current struggles against the german support for the genocide of the Palestinians and anti-war alliances and organise protests against NATO.
• We can learn a lot from international struggles: for example, from our comrades in Kenya, who are centrally involved in the current struggles and are exposed to repression that is still very far away for us in Germany.
• We also realise that there are very similar problems in European countries―exchange is really important on how we can overcome them.
• Importance of Understanding struggles and conditions in other countries, a better understanding how we can weaken imperialism
• exposing theoretical problems in dialogue with other international actors―for example with regard to the theory of imperialism Exchange is very central for us
The necessity of internationalism:
• The Exchange with international comrades is essential for the success of our tasks
• The WAP is an important point of reference for us to gather and discuss our experiences in the international class struggle and to set a clear anti-imperialist direction of attack
• The Proletarian internationalism is a key factor in the struggle against war and in favour of socialism in view of the danger of World War III and the crisis of the international communist movement. Especially in one of the core countries of imperialism, this is a central task.
• The exchange with the various organisations and institutions of the WAP is an important place of learning for us. We can discuss our experiences and plans and learn from each other.
Conclusion:
• In view of the danger of the Third World War and the intensification of class struggles at national and international level, great tasks lie ahead of us
• Our task in Germany is to fight against the preparations for war against Russia and to show solidarity with the struggling peoples of the world. We must also unite with the oppressed peoples worldwide to understand their situation and publicise it within the German public sphere
• To this end, we must exchange ideas with European communists and unite our struggles. The WAP serves us as an important platform for exchange
• We want to strengthen proletarian internationalism in the WAP and jointly lead the anti-imperialist struggle for peace and socialism
