People’s Democracy Party (“Republic of Korea”)
The World Anti-imperialist Platform, which has been organized and built by all of us gathered here today—by communist and anti-imperialist forces in each country—is a powerful weapon of our era’s anti-imperialist struggle, a weapon of ideological struggle, and a weapon of revolution, shining through its scientific analysis of the current situation and its formulation of revolutionary strategy. I believe that strengthening and expanding this Platform must be our rightful and foremost practical task.
To ensure that this international colloquium leads to practical outcomes, I would like to propose three concrete suggestions.
1. Let us actively organize the Platform’s events and participate in them.
Not only large-scale events like this one—which include major conferences and rallies—but also smaller-scale gatherings such as colloquiums organized by Party organizations or Platform members within a single country or across a few countries should be actively promoted. The colloquium held in Madrid last year served as a model, leading to the successful hosting of similar events in Taiwan, Chile, Greece, and Korea. The one held this year in Paris on the occasion of Victory Day can be seen as a comprehensive culmination of those efforts. Right after this event in The Hague, a colloquium will be held this coming weekend in Belgrade. The next major Platform events are highly likely to be held in Latin America—specifically Central America—and in East Africa, either in the latter half of this year or sometime next year. As you may know, the Platform attaches great importance to organizing both practical and theoretical events in the three main theaters of the World War 3—where the war is either already underway or imminent. In this context, we want to highlight the importance of the Platform delegation’s visit to Donbas last year, our participation in the Communist Party of Russian Federation in Moscow this year, our visit to Taiwan last year, and the successful organization of events in Gwangju and Seoul, the Republic of Korea, for three consecutive years: 2023, 2024, and 2025. Now that the war in Iran has erupted, we are currently considering holding an event in Iran—or, if that is not possible, in a nearby country such as Turkey or Pakistan.
2. Let us designate the first Saturday of every month as the Day of World Anti-imperialist Struggle. On this day, let us organize mass rallies and marches in each country—not necessarily large in scale, but regularly, even if only by small groups. Based on our experience, holding rallies or press conferences in front of the US embassy has proven to be an effective format for small but committed groups. PDP has faithfully carried out this practice every month without exception for over two years, ever since this proposal was first raised and basically resolved within the Platform in 2023. We want to emphasize that, as a result, not only has PDP’s central mobilization capacity grown stronger, but its local branches have also been significantly reinforced, and they have played a crucial role in resisting the brutal repression of the Yoon Suk-yeol fascist regime. In the end, it comes down to practice and struggle. In this period of world war, and as a communist organization, we believe the Platform must continue to deepen its engagement through action and resistance. For Platform members with the capacity and conditions, we believe it’s necessary to actively organize antiwar and anti-NATO strikes and mass resistance movements, and, where needed, we need to build focused campaigns of international solidarity on the level of Platform.
For example, anti-NATO struggles have been growing in strength in Italy and Serbia. In international support of these efforts, the Platform delegation toured across Italy this spring together with our Italian comrades. And as mentioned, an international solidarity event is being organized this weekend in Belgrade, Serbia. We believe solidarity with the anti-NATO struggle cannot be emphasized enough.
3. Let us vigorously develop propaganda and information work—the greatest strength of the Platform.
This must not be limited to national issues but must also address global developments. At present, for example, the war in Iran is a key issue. It is important that Platform member parties publish articles offering scientific analysis and revolutionary strategy on such matters, and that these are regularly and systematically shared through the Platform’s News website and monthly journal. We want to emphasize that the authority and influence of the Platform continue to grow, and that its positions and materials are being actively studied, discussed, and learned from by the members of revolutionary parties and youth organizations in many countries. To further expand and strengthen this propaganda work, we should use colloquiums and conferences as a foundation, while also organizing more lectures, seminars, and discussion meetings. Member parties should invite one another to speak at their events, and we should actively share these activities via online platforms and social media. It would also be very effective for each party to subscribe to and regularly watch one another’s YouTube channels.
In short, let us share and amplify each party’s revolutionary propaganda efforts across the Platform in a way that creates synergy.
Beyond these proposals, we welcome all innovative and creative ideas that can further strengthen the World Anti-imperialist Platform and elevate its role.
